We have done some decorating and
smartened some rooms up with room 5 becoming a twin room, which when the
beds are banded together make a fantastic 6' wide bed, with
larger TV and Video and the addition of a cooler and ironing point as well.
We have also put a cooler and ironing point into the family room (4). We also have an annexe twin bedded/6' double (flexible) room on the ground floor with full en-suite facilities. This is accessible just to the side of the main house and you can park your car just in front of it. It has two steps up into the room. Freshly decorated with a bamboo wood floor and contemporary look to it now this is a favourite for dog owners. A new conservatory is now complete and will be accessed from the drawing room or directly from the car park. It will enable disabled access for morning coffee and afternoon teas. With improvements to the garden area outside of it as well. This include a gazeebo giving a bit of cover over the patio. |

The Guitar weekends have been very strong these last few years with extra weekends added due to demand. The teaching studio has been a great success and is in constant use. I have been retired from the decorating business for nearly 7 years now and Graham is doing very well with it. It now means I have to pay to get the decorators in. This will be our last year running Guitar Weekends and also running Beckfoot as a guest house. 2012 will see it returned to a private house. The Four poster room continues to be very popular especially for those romantic breaks. You can have a champagne breakfast in the room.
We have a new visitor center 'Rheged'. On the A66 just west of Penrith is up and running now and is well worth visiting. It has a 6 story high Large Format Cinema contained within which also has 3D films. It has a host of things to do inside including exhibitions, restaurant, shops and the cinema.
